Should I compromise and mutually withdraw my ebay feedback?

I ordered an item from ebay on December 29, 2006, and the seller did not send the order until January 15, 2007. The seller did not respond to emails I sent, and once the product arrived, it was not as described. The seller stated on the page to "never leave him/her negative or neutral feedback, if there's a problem to email them, and they will fix it"... I emailed them TWICE, with no response, and on top of that, the product was not accurate once it was shipped. They claim to have sent an email stating a "delay in shipping" and blame it on ebay, for me not receiving it. I left them a neutral feedback, stating that the shipment was over 3 weeks late, and that the product was not as described. The seller, retaliated by leaving me a negative rating, with no basis of doing so, other than that they said not to leave them negative feedback, and claiming that i had not contacted them, after acknowledging to me that they received my emails. I paid on time and did everything i should as a buyer
