I'm devastated and very scared....my 41 yr. old sister has to have an Internal Cardiac Defibrillator put in?

Her diagnosis is Long QT syndrome......now I have to be genetically tested to see if I too have the condition. We're not getting a 2nd opinion, because we don't want to wait and then it's too late.....can anybody tell me what it is like to have one in, and does it affect your life much? We live in the US.....thank you.
